The knittet flared pants: Even though a pair of heavy knitted pants might not be the most flattering around the hips, it looked amazing on the runway at Céline and Haider Ackermann, when styling it with many layers..
All in the details: I was (as many others) very excited about seeing this seasons highly anticipated debut, which was Nicolas Ghesquières ( former Balenciaga designer) first collection for Louis Vuitton. In his previous work I have always admired his way of mixing different materials, which gave the “wow effect”. That technic was also seen in this 1960′s inspired collection, but he had gone more into the details from patent knotted belts to more eye-catching jewelry, that made the looks even more interesting!
The knee boots: As seen on several catwalks, these are my favorite takes on the 1960′s knee boot, that we for sure will see much more of next season. I really like the pointed ones in leather from Balenciaga – so elegant! As you’ve might noticed, I already invested in a pair of patent booties from Saint Laurent, so maybe these ones from his next collection will grow on me too…
The culottes shorts: As already mentioned from the Acne Studios AW14 collection, I’m seeing culottes shorts everywhere.. I really like the ones in leather – especially when mixing them with heavy knits! Here seen at Chloé in a gorgeous camel color and at Acne Studios with sporty tweed straps on the bottom.
Logo deluxe: It’s time to bring back the monogram classics and flashing some logo’s…100% according to Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel, who made this statement on several of the bags..
Wrap it up: The knotted/ wrapped details gives an amazing layering effect – the draping’s makes the look much more interesting and sculptural, which I really like. Here seen at Stella McCartney on the must have knit dress next season and at Hermes.
